Jan is the President of the Belgian Shepherd dog club of the Western Cape and was also a founder member of the club and has imported the first Belgian Shepherds to South Africa.

Jan is a registered breeder and he uses the Kennel name "Delatro". Jan ownes many Belgian Shepherds, all bred from imported and champion bloodlines.
